dear columbia housing,

when i called last night at 8:30 (uh yea, 12 hours and 3 minutes ago) and told you that my light was out, i wasn't joking. thanks for sending someone "right up" as you promised. waiting around was fantastic!

also, hearing men yelling in spanish at around...6? am outside my window the morning of my spanish final that determines if my 89.4 becomes an A or not was also fantastic. and even more fanstatic is the wonderful drilling and banging and clanking and even more yelling atop butler that you allow DURING FINALS WEEK! as if new york weren't already loud enough on its own. GO YOU! with your amazing logic and respect for the thousands upon thousands of dollars that we pay you every year. no, it's ok i didn't need those extra two out of five hours of sleep that i was getting anyway. really, i didn't.

so thanks columbia housing. you're the best!

huggles!

jeremy

Our president, the idiot.

"This bill would support the taking of innocent human life of the hope of finding medical benefits for others. It crosses a moral boundary that our society needs to respect, so I vetoed it,"

Right, so never mind the innocent life taken by a war that was fragrantly started for oil profits with no benefit to the human race as a whole, simply to the pocketbooks of the rich. And human life? A blastocyst has no emotion, no feelings, no ability to function on its own. Our legal system declares a person officially dead when their heartbeat stops, why not declare them officially alive when their heart starts beating?

"They remind us of what is lost when embryos are destroyed in the name of research. The remind us that we all begin our lives as a small collection of cells. And they remind us that in our zeal for new treatments and cures, America must never abandon our fundamental morals," Bush said.

Yet in our zeal for oil, life and morals suddenly are no longer factors. Bush must have a first class ticket to heaven.

"America was founded on the principle that we are all created equal and endowed by our creator with the right to life," he added. "We can advance the cause of science while upholding this founding promise. We can harness the promise of technology without becoming slaves to technology. And we can ensure that science serves the cause of humanity, instead of the other way around."

But America only holds to these principles to the white, wealthy and heterosexual. Quote the founding fathers, but don't truly follow their word, nice.

I'm so sick and fucking tired of him using morals as a basis for his incredibly ignorant decisions. Just admit it Bush, you know NOTHING about stem cells and their capabilities. You know NOTHING about when life begins, and you probably know nothing about science in general.

Bush is immoral, he is a liar, he is anything but Christian, he is incredibly ignorant, he hasn't a brain cell to spare, and is quite frankly unfit to lead this nation. I'm so so so so so so sick of religion being used as an excuse for every mistake he makes. Religion just tends to fuck things up, just look at the middle east, look at our nation and its values.

I'm so happy I'm going to a continent where people value intelligence tomorrow.
